Person Profile

Person Profiles serve as biography pages for individuals working at the City.

Note: Person profiles on Boston.gov are only reserved for Cabinet heads, elected officials, and members of Boards and Commissions.

Best Practices

  • All person profiles should have a headshot. In the event that someone doesn’t have a headshot, you should select the "blank" headshot from the photo library.

  • Include the person’s job title or titles in the "Position Title" field, not in their name field.

  • Whenever possible please include an email and/or phone contact. You will also need to indicate which method of contact is the primary contact.

  • Before creating a new Person Profile, check to see if one already exists for that individual. It's better to edit or add to an existing profile instead of creating a duplicate.

  • While a person profile can be published without adding a bio, user feedback indicates that people would prefer these pages contain some information about the person.

Good to Know

Once a person profile is published, it can be added to the Grid of People component. The grid will auto-populate their headshot and their indicated preferred method of contact.
